Pattern for sail boat 1(note how its the reverse of the finished picture) |
Decide on your colours and cut coloured paper into 2.5 cm wide strips. |
Using pattern trace onto the centre of the BACK of your card. Using a scalpel cut out shape. |
Lay pattern on workspace face up, and your card right side DOWN over pattern, securing with paperclips or scotch tape.
Cover any odd bits (eg base of boat and pennant) with your chosen holographic or plain coloured paper leaving the patterned part of card clear. |
Fold your chosen paper strips in half lengthways. |
Keeping the folded edge of the strip towards the centre, cover the area marked no. 1, always allowing 1/4" to 1/2" at each end (or the ends will show through!) and stick down with small pieces of scotch tape. |
With your second colour strip, cover the area marked no. 2 and stick down with small pieces of scotch tape.
Be careful that you don't "spill over" onto adjacent areas; trim strips where necessary. |
Continue in this manner until you reach the centre, or the eye - the IRIS - then cover with a small piece of your chosen holographic paper and tape securely down.
Now continue with the second sail in the same way. |
When the second sail is complete, ensure all the loose edges are securely taped down, and remove from the pattern sheet - your finished picture is now ready to stick onto the front of a card! |
